🎶 AI Music Side Hustle Update

it's a slow process

How’s your weekend going so far?

I’ve been working on my wife’s new ecommerce store a bit while also continuing to dip my toes into cold email outreach.

Signed up for SmartLead after spending way too long deciding between it and Instantly. (apparently Instantly rewards people for 5-star reviews).

Anyways, I now understand why lead gen agencies exist and the pain point they solve.

Today I wanna give you an update on the AI music thingie I’m experimenting with.

But first, I’ve got another sponsor today. So, give ‘em a click to check out their offer and get entered to win ALL the ads earnings for the month.

Run IRL ads as easily as PPC

AdQuick unlocks the benefits of Out Of Home (OOH) advertising in a way no one else has. Approaching the problem with eyes to performance, created for marketers with the engineering excellence you’ve come to expect for the internet.

Marketers agree OOH is one of the best ways for building brand awareness, reaching new customers, and reinforcing your brand message. It’s just been difficult to scale. But with AdQuick, you can plan, deploy and measure campaigns as easily as digital ads, making them a no-brainer to add to your team’s toolbox.

AI Music + ??? = Profit

If this is your first time hearing about this project, the gist is using AI music tools to get up songs on YouTube, Spotify, etc and see if it makes any money.

I was planning on using Suno for this until I came across Udio and that’s what we’re using right now.

Personally, I thought we’d pay for this for a month and have loads of songs in the bag.

The reality is that, like any AI tool, the AI works great some days and terrible other days. It sometimes forgets the instructions. And it sometimes gives you nonsense words instead of the lyrics it’s supposed to use.

As you may have guessed, we’re not doing instrumentals, but songs with words. ChatGPT is doing most of the heavy lifting with the lyrics.

We want to get 24 songs done before uploading anywhere. And I think we’re at a total of seven AI bangers.

But it’s been a hell of a lot of fun, even if it’s taking way longer than I expected.

After the prompt, the initial song is only like 30-seconds long and then you have to keep extending it to get it the length you want. Wife is then doing some light editing in Audacity to fix any garbled words, etc.

All in, it’s around 45 min to one hour per song with words - including time spent in chatGPT getting lyrics.

We’ve played some of the songs for people and got some great feedback.

Best part? We’ve only spent $10 on this little project so far. But when we get ready to upload the songs everywhere, it will cost more.

Don’t know if it will ever make money as a viable side hustle, but at least it’s fun!

Have a great rest of your weekend,

Shawna
