You think you’ve seen the worst of it…

I’ve mentioned in the past how I don’t think using Beehiiv ads as a monetization strategy for a newsletter is worth it any longer.

Well, it’s recently gotten worse.

They started making more changes a couple of months ago. And I began noticing rates for familiar brands were no longer as high as they used to be.

Now we’re getting into “that’s just insulting” territory.

I know that $1.50 isn’t that insulting, but this was just the easiest example for me to grab showing the decline. There’s brands that started out at less than $1.50 CPC that have seen a similar drop…those are the really insulting ones.

This newsletter is actually the only one that I have left on Beehiiv. All my others have been moved to Kit.

That will be the case with this one soon.

I do hate losing the archive (one of the few things Beehiiv manages to do well). I’m hoping to find a good solution to move that though since people have thanked me for having it available.

I considered pruning the email subscribers down to the point of meeting the threshold for the free Beehiiv account…but the free account doesn’t let you run any automations to scrub the list of inactive subs….plus I’ve hated Beehiiv for a while.

So, if you’ve had Beehiiv newsletters on your list of things to do…maybe don’t?
