It took a bit more work than I expected, but I think I’m finally done editing that chatGPT fiction book.

So, got a quick update on that.

It’s Not Complete Rubbish…

So, here’s what I can say about this experience so far - the book isn’t complete and total garbage.

But it’s not exactly what I would call a good book.

Of course, I say that as someone who isn’t a reader of the horror genre, so maybe it’s fine for the genre?

And since I spent more time than expected editing and manually re-writing some (Claude also helped), I can’t imagine this being a net-positive for me in terms of time spent and potential earnings.

But hey, maybe I’m wrong!

I’ll be putting this thing in Kindle Unlimited (KU) so I’ll get paid by the page reads for that. This is a short book though, so it will likely be pennies.

Word count is currently at 12,803 so while it looks like I only cut around 500-600 words, the reality is that I completely deleted several chapters and added lots of words. At one point there was only a little over 9,000 words.

Anyways, not sure I’ll be able to charge more than $0.99 for it when it comes to sales though. That means a net profit of around $0.33 per actual sale.

But I’m getting ahead of myself here.

Next up I have to get it formatted in Kindle format…so, more of my time spent on this.

Then, I have to add the title and pen name to the MidJourney cover and upload the book.

Ideally, I’ll get all this done in a week or so.

So, that’s where things are at with this. And it’s not nearly as fun as the AI music thing I’m also doing.
