🤷‍♀️ If I had to choose two

these are the two

In partnership with

Well, my Skool community crossed 100 members so I put up a paywall. Now all the discussions are private. But you can still join for a teensy fee.

Honestly, I only put up a paywall cause people tend to value things they pay for more than freebies. (no shade to those of you who got in for free). That’s why it’s such a low amount. 🤷‍♀️

Anyways, hope you managed to make it to Doug’s livestream today where we covered a LOT of topics. Or, check out the replay.

I’ll expand on some of what we talked about today.

More on that in a moment.

But first, I’ve got another sponsor today. So, give ‘em a click to check out their offer and get entered to win ALL the ads earnings for the month.

My Top 2 Picks

One thing Doug asked me was what are my top 2 picks of all the things I’m doing for people who are looking for side hustles.

But I think my recommendations remain the same whether it’s a side hustle or a new main hustle.

Local newsletters and books.

Despite the fact that my local newsletter isn’t yet profitable - YET - I still think it’s a solid business model.

Low start up cost - Beehiiv is literally free for the first 2,500 subscribers. And you can use local Facebook groups, Reddit, and other social media to get subscribers for free.

Lots of work running one of these though. Gotta curate a fuckload of info and then publish on a regular schedule.

And, despite the fact that I fucking hate Amazon as a partner, everyone and their dog gets books from Amazon and there is great revenue potential there.

Startup costs really depend on your skills - can you make your own book covers? can you write it yourself (or with the help of AI)? can you follow the directions to format the book for Kindle?

I won’t lie - there’s a lot to publishing ebooks as well.

While you can get started for cheap with both of those, there are tools and other things that IF you can spend the money, you will have an easier time with it.

And with Kindle publishing, having money for some of these tools is the difference between seeing immediate amazing growth vs slow or no growth.

I’ll share more about the tools you can use to give yourself an unfair advantage in the future.

Cause now I gotta go iron out the details of a new Growth Cupid service that I managed to sell via my new cold email campaign….that’s right, I accidentally sold a service I don’t even offer yet.

But hey, if you’ve got a real-world local business then hit me up for this service at an insane discount (once I figure out pricing) in exchange for a testimonial about it.

Coming up…

Upcoming topics: more tips and ideas on Etsy and KDP, how it’s going with my chatGPT fiction ebook and the AI music thingie, and growing an ecomm site.

If you have a topic you want covered just reply and let me know.

Stay awesome,

Shawna

P.S. If you’re looking for high level discussions or tips on things like local SEO and Rank & Rent, I highly recommend Jacky Chou’s Advise community. I’ve been in it for several months and there’s tons of value in it, including a SOP for local SEO.
