🏗️ Directory Site Update

Lots of replies to yesterday’s email about flipping thrift store finds. And a high number of unsubscribes.

A couple of people pointed out that flippers/resellers make it so that needy people don’t get the deals. Which is a fair point.

Personally, I don’t see myself ever doing this as a side hustle, but still super interesting.

But today let’s get back to the directory site I’m building.

Brick by Brick

When I picked my niche, I found one other site in the niche doing well without any backlinks.

Since then, I’ve found three other sites in the niche 🥴

Guess that validates the niche cause they’re all doing well. One of them (the oldest) is doing VERY well.

Two of them are doing some lazy ass link building, but nothing for the other two.

I have every intention of doing linkbuilding, so this should be interesting.

Also, I was following the guy (Frey) on YouTube and checked out that directory plugin he recommends.

Shit is convoluted as fuck. Asked for a refund on that.

Did everything that I planned on doing with the plugin with something I already had - Kadence Blocks Pro.

Noticed one of the new sites in my niche was using it and now I am too.

I suspect you can do the same with whatever the pro version is of GenerateBlocks for GeneratePress too.

Actually, Frey says he uses Elementor Pro and now I’m wondering why he doesn’t just use that instead of the additional plugin?

Anyways, building the first location page took me about a half day in Kadence blocks.

Easy peasy after that since I’m just using a duplicator style plugin to make a copy of a page and then just change out the data.

I’ve got some travel coming up and other appointments, so a conservative estimate here is done in a month.

Then I’ll be focused on building backlinks.
