Directory Sites = 🔥

Feels weird to have only recently gotten into directories and sharing with you the YouTube channel I discovered all this on.

Fast forward to today and the dude on that same channel was just interviewed on Greg Isenberg’s channel.

That’s crazy, but good for him.

Usually this means that I’m late to the party.

And usually it means a lot of lazy builders are gonna be flooding the market.

Also not great for him.

The Curse/Blessing

I’ve been on podcasts before that get a lot of traction and ends up being both good and bad.

For Frey, the dude I was referring to, I suspect he got loads of people joining his free group. And he’ll be able to sell the membership to them when he launches it.

That’s awesome for him.

But it also means a fuckload more people now both know about him and his sites AND they know that directories are a good payday.

It means more competition in the market.

It also means he’s gonna have more people looking for his money making sites to replicate.

These things are not so awesome for him.

And the whole more competition and more people knowing about it is not great for people (like me) just now testing these waters.

Will be interesting to see what happens as I think you’ll do best with a directory with a bit more effort than simple pSEO tactics.

And now, a slightly relevant story…

When I publicly shared how much traffic and money was stacking up for a site using FULL AI content with zero edits, the word spread much faster and much further than I’d ever imagined. Or intended.

The “good” was that I got more opportunities and made a nice sum in AI content writer affiliate commissions.

It was a couple months later when the “bad” came my way.

Someone was determined to get my sites demonetized with the lie that all my sites were 100% unedited AI content. Dealing with that (more than once) took some time and frustration.

And let’s not forget the 19 “pure spam” penalties & sites deindexed for “scaled content abuse” that I’m certain was a result of this since I saw people like Lily Ray talking about my little experiment.

Best part? The site in question remains indexed, though I no longer own it.
