A Liar Says What?

When Google made this exciting announcement (/sarcasm), they did so claiming that the people are clamoring for more of it!

What do we want? More shitty AI answers in the search results!

I find this to be unfathomable.

But apparently there are some odd birds out there who do enjoy it. Or so says the replies to that tweet.

I guess maybe I make different searches than them? Because I see no change in the quality of AI answers.

And just two days ago, I got yet another phone call from my mother complaining about an AI answer (I’m not sure why she thinks I have a direct line to Google to request changes & give feedback).

Then there’s the AI overview in this tweet I saw earlier (click image to be able to see that screenshot)-

But hey, regardless of what you think about AI overviews, one thing is clear - those clicks from Google are never coming back.

So, keep working on alternative traffic streams.

And then maybe some alternatives for those alternatives.
