🤓 Facebook Monetization Math
how's that ROI?
Even though I’m not actively pursuing the Facebook content monetization with my pages, I’m still kinda obsessed with it.
The thing is that I WAS in the program and it was a hell of a lot of work for very little payout.
Sure, it may have been user error. I can admit that.
Cause I was in a pretty good niche (gardening).
But the math didn’t math for me. Only Facebook made money in my scenario.

Maybe It’s Not Just Me
I lurk in a ton of SEO forums and in one of them, a guy was recently sharing data from his last 12 months working on growing a Facebook page.
From the details he shared, he’s (like I said) been working on this the last 12 months.
He is earning from both Facebook and Instagram.
His niche is dogs, specifically Yorkies (he shared this, I’m not outing anything).
How much is he making?

So currently around $800 a month.
After 12 months.
He only got monetized this month.
He’s spending 2-3 hours a week on this right now to get up 5-10 posts per day that are shared.
He went on to say in the post “it’s been about six months since I started running ads for followers and posting heavily. I spent about $100 a month on ads to get started the first 3 months and was getting followers per about 0.15 cents. When I got to where I’m getting new followers organically I drop down to $30 a month in ads. So yeah I’ll be operating at a loss for a while.”
Not sure if “posting heavily” refers to the current cadence of 5-10 posts a day or if he was posting more often.
Also I hope that “about 0.15 cents” is $0.015 and not $0.15, right?
He didn’t share about his reach or anything, so I’m not sure what it was when he got monetized.
But he did share that the FB page has 31,000 likes and the Instagram page has 10,000.
Interesting data, no?
Is the math mathin’ for you?

He’s already IPO’d once – this time’s different
Spencer Rascoff grew Zillow from seed to IPO. But everyday investors couldn’t join until then, missing early gains. So he did things differently with Pacaso. They’ve made $110M+ in gross profits disrupting a $1.3T market. And after reserving the Nasdaq ticker PCSO, you can join for $2.80/share until 5/29.
This is a paid advertisement for Pacaso’s Regulation A offering. Please read the offering circular at invest.pacaso.com. Reserving a ticker symbol is not a guarantee that the company will go public. Listing on the NASDAQ is subject to approvals. Under Regulation A+, a company has the ability to change its share price by up to 20%, without requalifying the offering with the SEC.

P.S. If you’re looking for high level discussions or tips on things like local SEO and Rank & Rent, I highly recommend Jacky Chou’s Advise community. I’ve been in it for over a year now (I think?) and there’s tons of value in it, including a SOP for local SEO.
