At I/O 2025…

Google announced something that feels a lot like the final death blow for a lot of site owners.

This not a good thing for sites that were already on life support.

Hell, it’s not a good thing for perfectly healthy sites either!

It feels a lot like the final way Google make sure no one sees your site…but them of course. So they can still serve up your content while you get zilch in return.

Just another good reminder to find alternative traffic sources and maybe even alternative business models.

I do think some directories will be immune to this. The ones that have all that extra info.

The question though, is for how long?
