It’s Day 11 of me making a real effort to scale Growth Cupid. Worked on ideas for YouTube videos, more work on the social content calendar, and had an interesting convo on Facebook cold outreach with someone in my Skool community. Tumbleweeds…

I think I’ve noted in the past how dead most of these forums and groups have been. But I recently saw someone complaining about it on Facebook.

Or maybe Twitter?

And I thought it was odd to see someone complaining now. So, I took a look in one the places I’m still in that I know isn’t as active as it used to be - the Fat Stacks forum.

Honestly, I think it’s deader than the last time I was in there. Most recent post was 8 days ago.

And sure, I know why these places are dead. We all do.

But I guess I’m surprised to see that such a huge percentage of the people in these forums and groups have kinda just given up instead of trying something new.

I know some people say that they are a “serial entrepreneur” and I’d like to think the same of myself, but I don’t really think that’s true. I’m more of a “serial tryer-outer of random shit.” And I guess that’s what it is that I’m surprised about. That more people didn’t pivot from niche sites to just trying out random shit and seeing what happens.

And on an unrelated, but kinda not, note - I was once driving on the interstate out here in Nevada on a VERY windy day (we get lots of those out west) and the tumbleweeds were rolling like crazy EVERYWHERE. And they were literally pelting the car as we drove. I’m honestly surprised the car wasn’t covered in dents from it cause it made thunk, thunk, thunk noises with all the hits. Things they don’t warn you about before you move to the desert, eh?
