🚗 Going All In

For a few weeks now I’ve been trying to make a decision.

Well not just me, of course, it’s my wife and I.

Here’s the sitch - we’ve got tickets to a concert in Chicago this summer. Do we drive there or fly there?

I know, Vegas to Chicago is a helluva drive.

Unless….it’s not just for a concert….

It’s Time

A few years ago, I finally started a travel blog with my wife.

I know, this isn’t a surprise since I’m all about travel. But the thing is that having a travel blog has always made travel less fun.

So, this is a neglected site. Only a small number of people know about it.

I haven’t even done Pinterest for it. But it gets traffic from social.

At least I’ve only told a small number of people. More than that probably know.

The site hasn’t even been updated in like two years or something.

Anyways, this site didn’t get smashed by HCU cause it’s not a typical niche site in travel.

It ranks above TripAdvisor for some queries.

So we’ve been toying with the idea of making it a newsletter focused site. Then we thought about doing a Facebook page for the Bonus program.

But this concert in Chicago offers the perfect opportunity to level up this idea.

So, we’re planning an almost 30 day drive around the US this summer with places where we can record video for YouTube and work on the site.

Right now this is looking like it will cost around $7,000 for almost a month of travel.

Plus I need to buy a GoPro and maybe some lav mics.

Ideally, we’ll recoup all that and then some with the crazy amount of content we’ll get. Cause we think we’ll end up with 6 months worth of YouTube content.

Or, we might just end up with a $7,000 extra long vacation.

Either way, it’s happening.

I won’t lie - it’s a little stressful to spend that much on something that you don’t really know if it will work. Cause that’s like more than 3 months of rent.

But being serious for a moment, logically I know that this will get some traction from at least social media.

Anyways, once we get it all started up good and proper, I’ll share it here. The concert isn’t until July though, so it’ll be a while.

Oh, and we’ll also be getting content for TWO other projects in different niches. But I won’t be sharing those. 🤫
