Beehiiv vs ConvertKit

If you’ve been with me a while, then you likely already know that this newsletter started out on ConvertKit. And I was able to grow subscribers by a substantial amount with ConvertKit’s creator recommendations network.

But when I started my local newsletter, I went with Beehiiv because I really liked their accessible archive for newsletters.

Plus, all the other local newsletters are on Beehiiv.

It’s worth noting that I was offered access to ConvertKit’s free newsletter plan before I chose Beehiiv, but I didn’t jump on that because I don’t like that they control a paid recommendation spot (meaning they would make money off my newsletter subscribers).

After being on Beehiiv for a month with my local newsletter, I moved this list from ConvertKit to Beehiiv - but I kept my ConvertKit account open just in case I wanted to move back.

While I think ConvertKit has better customer support (quicker replies), and I do hate Beehiiv Boosts for monetization, in the end I think Beehiiv is the better option for me.

If you’re on the fence, you can try both out for free and see which you prefer. Each has their pros and cons so it really just depends on personal preference.

P.S. ConvertKit has a free newsletter plan now for up to 10,000 subscribers, while Beehiiv only gives you 2,500 subs for free. Something to think about if you wanna test the newsletter waters.
