šŸ‘» It's A Ghost Town Out There

for reals

I think one of the most interesting things to come from HCU decimating most niche sites and content sites is the breakdown of the greater niche site community.

There used to be so many places where you could check-in with other site owners and both learn new things and have a place for people to just talk with other people in the same trenches as you.

For me, some of the best places to check-in were the Builder Society forum and the Fat Stacks forum.

But damn, itā€™s like a ghost town in those places these days. Admittedly, I havenā€™t popped into any of them (until recently) for like 6-9 months since Iā€™ve been so focused on newsletters and agency stuff.

Where Iā€™m Getting Value These Days

I suppose I should start by acknowledging that I, too, stopped frequenting the places that Iā€™m lamenting being a ghost town. Guess that means theyā€™re dead/dying for the same reasons that I stopped going there.

Other interests. No longer having anything to say or share about niche sites.

But still, itā€™s sad that these places are no longer the thriving hot spots of conversation they once were. I can only imagine the number of hours that I spent places in like the Fat Stacks forum.

And just last week I wondered why I was still paying the annual fee for it? I really need to find out when it renews so I can cancel.

So, where I am getting value these days?

For agency stuff, Joe Davies has a great Skool group called Scalers that I can recommend.

For newsletters, you wonā€™t find a better place than The Newsletter Club run by this guy (reach out to him on Twitter to get in).

For all things SEO, I highly recommend Jacky Chouā€™s Advise community.

Where are you hanging out online these days? Iā€™d love to find a good YouTube community.

P.S. If youā€™re looking for high level discussions or tips on things like local SEO and Rank & Rent, I highly recommend Jacky Chouā€™s Advise community. Iā€™ve been in it for several months and thereā€™s tons of value in it, including a SOP for local SEO.
