🚀 It's Started

I’m not sure what’s been going on with Google recently, but I’ve got some sites that have really started taking off.

Some were HCU-hit that I pivoted to more local content. Some were started after HCU and have just been stagnant until now.

And some are new. Like a directory site I’m working on.

I Can’t Work Fast Enough

My biggest issue right now is not being able to work fast enough.

I posted this on Twitter a few days ago -

This directory site is one that requires a lot of manual work for the content.

It’s going to have a page for each state because the niche I’m targeting doesn’t have very many locations. In fact, some states have zero locations.

I probably could have scraped Google Maps, but I think this is really the easiest way (sadly). And it definitely means I’m getting the best quality.

As I’m making my way through the states in alphabetical order I’m only at Florida so far.

So I think think it’s safe to say this one might be a winner.

That’s the good news.

The bad news is that display ads are likely going to be the primary revenue stream cause it’s something that doesn’t lend to a lot of other options. I may eventually try some digital downloads to see what works.

Site is an EMD similar to my bungee fitness example site.

Haven’t even started link building yet since I’m not done with the content/listings for the site.

If you’re still sleeping on directory sites, this is your sign to jump in.

Especially if you find a niche where you only need state pages instead of needing to scrape and import loads of listings.
