Changes Are Brewing

The first thing I want to share with you is this video.

I don’t know this YouTuber but have found his channel to be a good source of info in the past. And in the video linked above, he covers several new changes to the KDP program on Amazon.

If you’re looking for shortcuts to rank on Amazon, he lets you know the shortcuts that are no longer working.

The other thing I want to make sure you know about is the new KDP Identity Verification program.

I learned about it first in this blog post.

My account isn’t requiring this just yet, but I have to assume that anyone starting a new KDP account is going to see this.

Personally, I don’t really trust Amazon with my private info, but whatcha gonna do?

The general consensus in the KDP communities that I’m in are that these changes are overall a good thing because writers are hurting from all the bulk published AI books.

Yes, I realize that I used chatGPT to write a short novella (that I’ve yet to publish) ….

BUT….

I (sadly) ended up doing more editing that I expected, so I guess I’d really consider this more of an AI-assisted book.
