If you’re not new here, then you may recall my grumblings about Beehiiv for this very newsletter (as well as others I run).

I’d decided to move everything to Kit.

This newsletter used to be on Kit, and I still have a paid account there (for the Creator Network leads).

Last time I checked, they didn’t have the ability to convert my account to a free newsletter account.

I recently checked again.

Yes, But…

Why do companies make things more difficult than they need to be?

Kit now has the ability to convert paid accounts to free newsletter accounts.

But there’s a catch…

Cause isn’t there always a fucking catch.

If I let them convert my account, everything resets.

You might think, okay that’s fine, since automations aren’t part of the newsletter plan.

But it’s not just automations that get reset.

All your Creator Network settings get reset, too.

That means that anyone who’s recommending you, well, that shit gets reset, too.

Why?

There’s no reason for this except to either punish existing paid accounts or to keep more monies.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m down with businesses making money.

But this kind of bullshit doesn’t really encourage me to spend more money with these asshats.

Both Beehiiv and Kit go on my list of asshat email marketing platforms.

So, now what?
