🪨 Like Rolling A Boulder Uphill

Eleven months ago today, Google gave 19 of my sites (that were all in the same Search Console account) manual penalties for “Pure Spam.”

Some of those sites had a lot of posts. Some were just a blank Wordpress install with zero posts.

Periodically since that day, I have submitted reconsideration requests for various of the 19 sites.

Yes, I know this is a losing battle as I committed the crime of telling people that you can rank unedited AI content.

But I still do this from time to time just to see what happens. Well, something different happened this time.

An Actual Response!

As I’ve submitted these reconsideration requests, I’ve never gotten anything back other than the “form letter” denial with the “spam problems persist” line of bullshit.

My “Pure Spam” penalties talk about scaled AI content abuse, which make me lol since they penalized both sites with zero content (just WordPress installs) and sites that only had content from before chatGPT was even available.

One of those sites has a total of 18 posts on it. All hand-written by me.

I’ve got posts that are statistics-based where I did the research to compile the information.

And I’ve got posts where I was using HARO for quotes.

The last of these 18 posts was published more than a year before chatGPT was released.

This was the site that I used to submit my most recent reconsideration request. It’s a DR52 so I’d really love to get that fucking nonsense penalty removed.

I wrote in all CAPS how the site cannot have scaled content abuse with only 18 pages, all published before chatGPT was available. And that I know they can see the publication dates to confirm that.

Well…this time when they denied my reconsideration request, I got an actual response from the reviewer.

Ah yes, those 18 human-written posts, some of which have original research, are really exhibiting “such a large extent” of violations.

But I have to admit that now I’m curious. What kind of “fundamental and significant” changes can I make to call their bluff here? Cause it’s obvious the real problem is that I embarrassed them publicly.

Anyways, the main reason that I keep submitting these reconsideration requests is just to make them have to look at them. And I wasn’t even sure that anyone was…until now.
