📬 Local Newsletter Life Update

It’s been a while since I gave you an update on the local newsletter, so that’s today’s topic.

Before I get into it, I did hear an interesting analysis on why Naptown Scoop is so successful and why you can’t use it as your example of success when getting into local newsletters (like I did).

It’s not that it’s an affluent area, which is what I zeroed in on. It’s because almost all the population there speaks English as a first language.

Kinda makes sense now why I’m struggling here in Vegas…

New Strategy Deployed

The last time I updated ya on this, I mentioned that I was going to do a website-first strategy and try to use that to reel in subscribers.

I’m also using it to grow the traffic to the site and eventually monetize with display ads.

The site was already getting a little over 3,000 pageviews a month, so I look forward to seeing how this goes.

I’ve only just recently in the last couple of weeks started hitting the site with content, so I don’t yet have enough data.

But what I’m seeing is looking promising because the content is ranking pretty fast.

Who knows, this may end up being more of a local niche site in the end.

Honestly, I don’t care either way - I just want to make money from this…and I’m still in the negative here.
