🤝 Local Newsletter + Local Business

jumping into new waters

In partnership with

To really capitalize on running a local newsletter audience, I’ve been trying to come up with a local business that I could run and promote in the newsletter.

Ecomm stores just aren’t cutting it for this audience.

Then, I was reminded of something that might work…

More on that in a moment.

But first, I’ve got another sponsor today. You know the drill 👇👇👇

It’s Not A New Idea

So, I used to be kinda addicted to the Entrepreneur subreddit back in the day. I mean, I remember when the guy from Starter Story was first getting started on there.

So, around that time (when Starter Story was starting), I remember seeing a guy - I think his name was Roland - talking about doing a remote cleaning business.

Then it was everywhere people were talking about side hustles.

That was YEARS ago. And fast forward to the past few months and I see that remote cleaning businesses are back and trending.

So, on Friday, when I was working on getting the local newsletter ready to send, I was like damn, I really need a local business that I can promote in my own damn newsletter.

And then it hit me - if all these side hustle bros on Reddit can run a remote cleaning business, then I sure as shit can run one in my local area.

And the start up costs for this are essentially a few hundred bucks.

So, I did some keyword research, found a domain name sale at Namecheap, and spun up a website for this new cleaning business for less than $10 all in so far.

The website isn’t really done though. I just wanted kind of a placeholder website for the newsletter. I’ll finish it up later today though.

I haven’t hired anyone or anything like that. I’m gonna wait to see if I get any bites advertising it in my newsletter and maybe on Facebook.

If I get interest, then I’ll do some quick hiring through some of these local Facebook groups I’m already in….and get the necessary insurance. (research tells me it will be less than $500/yr)

Who knows, this could be the start of something great.

And if not, I’ve spent less than $10 so far.
