The Community Funnel

A few weeks back I got into Patey Club, which is a Skool community run by Richard Patey.

If the name sounds familiar, that’s because he’s been around for a while and used to run the Flipping Websites group before selling it.

I’ve been following him for quite some time now as he always pivots into interesting stuff.

He was one of the first people I remember seeing talking about newsletters before they became all the rage.

And how he’s talking about something that he’s calling The Community Funnel.

Side note: whenever I see someone sharing something they’ve made up with that tiny TM on it, I always think - did they really trademark this? So, I look in the US Trademark database and every single time the answer is no. One of these days some asshat will notice the same thing and file a trademark to sue someone. Yes, these are the random things I worry about.

Anyways…

I feel like this new idea from Richard is something that a lot of people should know about - especially since so many niche site peeps are making the move to focus on social traffic.

As you can see in the image, the gist of this is using social to get traffic to a newsletter that gets people into your Skool community so that you can sell something to them.

Though I’m focusing on inbox-first, I still think this is a really interesting idea. And I see how you could use it to make a lot of money.

Just something I think you may wanna give some consideration.

Week 10 of Local Newsletter Life Coming To A Close

Closing in on the end of week #10 of doing a local newsletter on Beehiiv.

We’re currently just a few subscribers over 2,200, so still a growth rate that I’m happy with

In terms of monetization, the call I was supposed to have with a potential sponsor never happened.

Still not worried about revenue as I’m focused more on growth right now.

Though I am still testing out affiliate offers to this list since I’m already in so many.

So far, no bites and I’ve tested premium dog food, travel insurance, cruise deals, and Chewy.com affiliate offers.

Not sure what offers I’ll test next.
