🤡 Mediavine Is At It Again

It’s funny that I was recently talking to you about people with raw AI content sites on Journey by Mediavine.

And then late yesterday I started seeing people talking about getting kicked off Journey.

Then this morning, more people mentioning it.

Guess they just can’t quit ruining peoples’ day.

You Get Suspended, And You Get Suspended…

The first person that I saw this morning talking about the latest purge is the guy who runs Content Goblin.

I’m assuming his sites are listed under his real name, which makes it hysterical that his sites didn’t get the boot in the first round.

The fact that AI sites continue to get onboarded + continue to surface from existing sites before the first purge just goes to show you that they have no fucking clue.

What a shit show.

Then there’s the collateral damage of people who get booted and didn’t use AI. Like for reals.

One reader of this very newsletter shared that she got booted in round one and was recently re-approved for Journey with essentially zero changes to the site.

But the best part?

Using this tool (from the same guy in the tweet above) to look at sites that got on Journey recently it’s easy to see that at least one of them is AI. (Hint: yesterday)

The title structure. The images. The content (the article I ran through CopyLeaks AI detector) came back 76% AI.

I am pro AI content when it’s not shitty. I’m also pro not being shitty like Mediavine is right now.

Anyways, here’s my tip to getting raw AI content that scores as human on all the detectors:

Sign up for Cuppa 

Use their Workbench feature and your API key for Anthropic (use Claude 3.7 Sonnet for output).

You also need an OpenAI API key for the ideal output analysis.

Find an article (preferably in your niche) from a newspaper or magazine (high quality writing) that was published BEFORE chatGPT or other AI content tools came into the picture.

Use that article in the “Ideal Output” section of Workbench. This builds your article variables.

I fill out the system prompt. And for the user prompt section, this is all I do. Other than “topic” everything else comes from the ideal output analysis.

End result? AI content that needs zero editing and scores as human everywhere.

I end up tweaking the output to sound more like “me” though that often changes the human vs AI score more towards AI…which makes me feel a bit like a robot.
