Pinterest Traffic Train On Life Support?
I donāt want to alarm youā¦.but Iām alarmed by what Iāve read this morning in the Raptive Facebook groupā¦
Iām not surprised that Pinterest wants to be a shopping site, but part of me wonders if them throttling traffic to sites with ads is for real.
Though, itās a shock that the Pinterest sales person didnāt wanna take this personās moneyā¦why else would they do that?
But Iām always a skeptic with third-party information until I see multiple people confirming it.
Wellā¦.
So far, thereās 81 comments on this post and you can imagine how this is going over with people.
Loads of niche site peeps have seen traffic return to their site just by focusing on Pinterest.
Honestly, itās a shame that theyāre doing this, if it is true.
I expected them to do something about all the AI images flooding the site and all the SEOs who are pinning hundreds of posts a day.
But not THIS.
So, now what?
Well, thereās one thing that I noticed immediately and that one commenter also pointed out -
It seems like as long as youāre not running ads, then you wonāt get your traffic throttledā¦.at least not yet.
Think about it - with all of the sites getting traffic from Pinterest, how can they easily and effectively identify all the sites with ads?
Iām not a coder, but I canāt think of an easy way for them to do that - but by running ads you make yourself easily identifiable.
In the past, Iāve always run ads at the start of a Pinterest account to sort of jumpstart things.
But I wonāt be doing that any longer.
Will I still use Pinterest as one of my traffic sources? Yes.
What do you think?
Have a great rest of your weekend,
Shawna
