☠️ Pinterest’s Latest Update Could Crush Your Traffic
Here’s What to Do...
Have you seen what’s going on with Pinterest?
If Pinterest traffic is part of your traffic game plan then ya best be paying attention.
They’ve quietly started removing the “Visit” button from some pins. (and hiding the visit link under the three-dot menu)
No announcement. No warning. Just... poof….gone.
And yeah, that’s the button that sends people to your site.

Another Thing To Worry About
Pinterest is essentially turning your traffic faucet to a slow drip.
And the worst part? It’s not happening to every pin.
Just some of them. Even in the same account.
That means means it’s super easy to miss unless you’re actively clicking around and comparing your pins.
And let’s face it, when you’ve got thousands of pins, you’re not doing that shit.
But it DOES mean we need to start checking in on our top pins each month to see if this button has been removed.
So, they claim to be doing this as a result of quality issues.
But let’s be honest: this smells like a slow shift toward keeping users on-platform longer and maybe pushing ads, affiliate plays, or native content.
So yeah, they’ve decided to be gatekeepers and only show the Visit button on pins that go to “quality” pages/sites.
Yet there’s zero specifications as to what they’re looking for in terms of quality.
It’s like Google all over again.
So, keep a check on your top pins. If you notice your Visit button is removed, then see what you can do to improve quality.
Mike at Stupid Simple SEO is suggesting:
Content Relevance: Pins should clearly match the content of the linked page. Misleading or irrelevant pins are getting flagged!
Technical Performance: Websites should load quickly, have minimal broken links, and avoid excessive redirects.
Originality: Pinterest favors original, unique content rather than widely used stock images or duplicated material.
User Experience: Your website should be easy to navigate, mobile-friendly, and free of aggressive ads or intrusive pop-ups.
Also don’t sleep on other traffic streams!
