Can I Make A Profit With A Ghostwriter?

So, I paid a little over $5,000 to get a three-book hockey romance series.

Book one is up and FREE today AND tomorrow.

This one a "clean" romance cause I'm not yet ready to deal with proofreading a "spicy" romance 😅 I'll work up to that.

I don't write fiction and I don't read romance novels, but I think this is a decent read?

Thanks to a very kind subscriber (appreciate you, Dana!), I know that I kinda screwed up my launch with zero planning, so it's 2 days free now and then I'll sort a proper promo situation soon.

Plus I haven’t set up the author page on Amazon or anything.

And then I have lots of tasks to do in order to launch books two and three in this series.

So, why am I doing this?

Cause if I can profit off this model, then it’s as close to passive income as you can get.

Each book has a cost of around $1,700 - that’s it.

Cause I did the covers in Midjourney and I did the editing myself. I know some people may need to hire an editor though, but I’m not sure of that cost.

Other expenses I expect: paying for promos, running ads on Facebook/Instagram.

I want to try to do this as cheaply as possible. Partly because I’ve already invested $5K and partly because I want to maximize profits (if this works).

With a $2.99 price, I’ll make just over $2 per sale and I don’t yet know what I’ll make for a full-read in Kindle Unlimited.

But at $2 per sale, I need 850 sales to break even.

Oh, I also know pretty much nothing about hockey, so no idea if any of that talk in the book is legit. 🤷‍♀️ But I assume that won’t matter cause people aren’t really there for the hockey, right?
