When I was working on increasing my output for this newsletter, it took me a while to get into a natural rhythm that felt comfortable and not forced.

I mean, it was a miracle if I sent out two emails in a single month and I worked up to sending one every single day.

I don’t have a publishing calendar or anything. I just sit down and write what’s on my mind that might be relevant to you.

In fact, I find this daily email quite cathartic, almost like journaling.

Sometimes The Vomit Comes Back Up

I think anyone who knows me personally, or even has followed me online for while, knows that I like to keep it real and I’m not shy about calling shit, or shit people, out.

I don’t have time for nonsense and that’s why I don’t bullshit anyone else.

And sometimes my lack of a filter results in whatever I’m writing about to get passed around.

It happened when I was angry about course sellers taking advantage of people. (I still get snide comments about that…)

It happened when I sent an expletive filled email recently. iykyk

Truthfully, it happens a lot. Just like with real vomit, brain vomit sometimes comes back around.

As I’ve said before, I make no apologies for the things I say and write. But if I write or say something factually incorrect, then I am quick to apologize.

Feedback tells me that the majority of you appreciate hearing my true experiences/opinions. And there’s the fact that I’m not telling you whatever you want to hear as a ploy to get you to part with your money.

Or worse, using fear-mongering tactics to sell you a shady course.

On a slightly related note, I know that a lot of you are interested in KDP and selling ebooks on Amazon…if you’re thinking of writing any of those yourself, I recommend writing a daily newsletter to get into that habit.

Honestly, even if 100% of you unsubscribed today, I’d still keep writing because it’s a habit now. And it would feel weird to not write a few hundred words like this each day.

Think of what you could accomplish with the same habit. I average between 500 and 800 words per daily email. Three months of that and you’ve got yourself a novel. Heck, one month and you’ve got yourself a non-fiction book.

Maybe we should do a daily writing challenge at the start of the year.
