Does It Make Sense?

Before we get into this, I do want to point out that selling aged domains for a markup is far more profitable that being the link selling middleman.

One of the people I saw talking about selling links ALSO sells aged domains, and he said that the lion’s share of his business was selling aged domains.

The downside with selling aged domains is that you have more upfront cost. And what if you don’t know what you’re doing and pick up some junkass domains that you can’t sell?

The other guy was saying that the smart people are buying aged domains not for their own projects, but to use for selling links to others. Mostly agencies, I assume.

Cause let’s face it, there’s not tons of niche sites and affiliate sites buying links these days like they used to.

I’m not buying links like that for my personal sites. But I AM buying links for ecomm and local SEO clients.

So, that validates the whole selling links to agencies thing.

I think though, to really make it worth your while and do it as a real business, you could own all or most of the sites that you sell links on. Make yourself a real agency this way with lots of site inventory that you can use to sell the links.

There’s a few places that I’ve bought links where I suspect that this is what’s going on.

Anywhere that has super fast link delivery almost has to own the sites cause I’ve done manual outreach to sites owners and most of the time they are slow as shit about getting links live.

The challenge here is the cost and time to get started. You gotta source all those sites/domains. Build them up if they’re not existing sites.

Manage the hosting so they are spread out on different IPs. Lots of hosting packages. Lots of sites to build/manage.

Still this would be cheaper than sourcing and selling aged domains.

You’ll need to price your links cheap enough that agencies can resell them to their clients.

You could also niche down so that you can charge more for the links.

Maybe you make yourself a fuckload of sites relates to law/legal stuff and then you only target agencies with legal clients.

Or maybe you have a bunch of sites that would be great for dental links. Then you target people running dental SEO agencies.
