šŸŽ° The Sneaky Way I'm Growing Dead Niche Sites

and Beehiiv Ads earnings update

Howā€™s your week going?

Iā€™ve been on vacation hanging out with one of my brothers and his family.

The six-year-old told me she was going to throw me in the trash because I wouldnā€™t give her an entire bag of Haribos for breakfast one day.

Kids, eh?

Anyways, pointing out that Iā€™ve got another sponsor today. So, give ā€˜em a click to check out their offer and get entered to win ALL the ads earnings for the month.

Later in this email Iā€™ll share how much the ads have brought in for July (minus the final two ad reports cause theyā€™re still pending).

Local Newsletter + Your Niche Sites

Today I want to share something that Iā€™ve not talked about much and that I havenā€™t really seen anyone else mention.

I use my local newsletter to get traffic to my kinda dead niche sites - and NONE of them are local sites.

One of the things that is different about my local newsletter is that each email includes links to what I like to think are interesting reads.

So, not at all relevant to the local area but things that I think might be of interest to the audience.

For instance, maybe thereā€™s a Taylor Swift concert in the area that I mention in the live music section and then in my interesting reads section I include a link out to a music niche site where I have something like 17 Things You Donā€™t Know About Taylor Swift.

I do this sort of thing as often as I can to drive traffic to my sites.

And it works.

Of course, itā€™s not always links to just my sites. Sometimes I include links to articles on other sites, like Mental Floss.

But itā€™s a great way for me to work on something new (the local newsletter) and work on my niche sites at the same time.

Overall itā€™s a win-win for me.

You like growth, right?

Beehiiv Ads Earnings Update

Okay, so I told you all that July was going to be more money than the June earnings total.

Here we are on the first day of August and this is what my dashboard shows for earningsā€¦ $352.20ā€¦ BUT ā€¦.

Iā€™m still waiting on the final totals for that last TWO emails, which means thereā€™s a really good chance this total will be over $400 for some lucky subscriber.

So thatā€™s cool.

But even better is that Iā€™ve already got more advertisers scheduled for August - which means even more money to give away.

With that in mind, my focus for August is keeping these emails as short as possible for you as to not overwhelm you.

Next Timeā€¦

Upcoming topics: more tips and ideas on Etsy and KDP, details on how Iā€™m getting local newsletter subscribers, how itā€™s going with my chatGPT fiction ebook and the AI music thingie, and growing an ecomm site.

Otherwise, if you have a topic you want covered just reply and let me know.

Stay awesome,

Shawna

P.S. Beehiiv recently changed the newsletter game - you now get a custom app for your newsletter (in addition to the first 2,500 subs for free). Havenā€™t turned the app for this newsletter on yet though.
