š¤Ŗ So Stupid It's Genius
new project incoming
In the past, Iāve had really stupid business ideas that Iāve joked about doing, but thought they were too stupid to work.
And without fail, Iāve seen someone do them and have big success.
Many years ago my most commonly used insult was āeat a bag of dicksā and I got the brilliantly stupid idea to start a business shipping bags of dick-shaped gummy candies as a joke thing.
I never started it. Someone else did and they sold that business for six figures shortly afterwards.
That wasnāt the first time (or last) I had a stupid idea that I saw someone else implement and profit on.
Well, today while I was at the gym I had another brilliantly stupid idea. And Iām acting on it this time.

Will Tariffs Kill It Though?
Okay, so the idea involves a Shopify POD store. Though I could probably do Woocommerce?
I hate Woo though cause itās hella clunky.
Anyways, Iāll be using Printful for the products. And Iām praying like hell that the tariffs donāt affect this.
And itāll be super cheap to validate for ~90 days.
Iām not sharing the domain name just yet, but hereās where Iām at -
Got the idea, came up with a great brand name, checked the trademark database.
Bought the plural and non-plural versions of the domain name. Cost: $18.12
Shopify is free for the first 3 days, then $1.00/month for the first three months. Cost: $3.00
Iāll create an email address with Google Workspace for $7.20/month. Cost: $21.60
All in, those first ~90 days will cost me less than $50 at $42.72 in fixed costs.
Of course, Iāll have additional costs in running ads.
Though Iāll promote it in my local newsletter which wonāt cost me anything.
Iāll likely run some ads on Facebook and Instagram to see if I can make any sales.
Not sure how much Iāll spend on that as I havenāt actually done my income taxes yet but I already know that Iāll have to pay in more money. š
If I have to send in more than $5K, then Iāll be a bit conservative with my ad budget. Otherwise my wife will probably kill me. Once taxes are done on Tuesday, Iāll have a better idea of my ad budget.
Iāll keep you updated on how this one goes. Should be a fun little project to speed run and see what happens.
