I feel like 2024 has really been the year for Rank & Rent.

It’s really been a glow-up type of year for it. Seems like loads of people are talking about.

Some seem to be doing it.

But building and ranking those sites is the easy part. Selling leads is the hard part that I suspect most of them are not really doing all that well on.

But, let’s dig in a bit more on this prediction that I came across on Twitter.

This guy sees it as a 7-part process, after which you celebrate your big sale…which he forgot to include but hey, I always celebrate flips.

I like that he’s realistic and acknowledges that selling the leads is not easy.

Though I do think that #4 is a bit disingenuous because you may need more than a “few basic links” if you end up picking a competitive location/industry.

That being said, I think you can skip #6 all together.

That’s right, skip the hard part and go right to #7 and sell that shit.

I even know someone who has pulled this off.

Here’s the tl;dr for doing this -

Make the site, rank it, once leads come in find a business not on page one and offer to sell the entire site to them and give them a few of the leads for free to give ‘em a taste of what’s to come.

You probably can’t sell this for a ton of cash. Like a few thousand.

But, if you do this in multiple industries and in multiple locations, then you’re seeing some real cash.

Say you sell a site for $2,500 - just two of those a month is a cool $5K.

What kind of expenses are you looking at for one R&R site?

1. Domain = $11

2. Hosting = $96 for Hostinger Business plan (2 years paid upfront)

3. GeneratePress Premium = $59/year (use their starter templates for R&R sites)

4. Location pages = use chatGPT or Cuppa (less than $10 all in)

5. Links = free or up to $300

So, at most, you’re looking at $476 here - but you’re not just doing one R&R site and here’s how you sweeten the deal and sell more of those sites …

When you are pitching the site sale to a local business, tell them you’ll host the site for them for a year for FREE if they buy it (or maybe an extra $100, whatevs). You’ve already paid for two years hosting, so it costs you nothing.

Plus, that $96 cost for two years of hosting will cover ALL the sites you make. So, after the first site the most you’ll spend per-site is $380.

You may even be able to sell adding blog posts to the site as an add-on fee.

Anyways, that’s the real flip you should be going after. Probably less than 5 hours of total work in this model, too.

It’s probably easier than what I think is going to be the #1 flippable asset for 2025, but you won’t make as much as you can with the model I prefer.
