šŸ™Œ The Value of Community

you really need one

In partnership with

Iā€™m in a few different communities these days related to the topics that Iā€™m interested in.

For SEO stuff, you canā€™t beat Jacky Chouā€™s Advise community.

For a group full of previous niche site people, you canā€™t beat the Fat Stacks forum (despite the weird daring me to come after him thing he did a while back).

For newsletters, Iā€™m in a one-time-fee group that is amazing.

Iā€™m in a few other groups too for different things. Some paid, some not.

And I feel like paid groups get a lot of the same pushback as paid coursesā€¦

Iā€™ll try to keep this short, ā€¦..but also, you know the drill šŸ‘‡šŸ‘‡šŸ‘‡

The Data Doesnā€™t Lie

I keep seeing people saying thereā€™s no need to pay to be in a community cause you can find free Facebook groups, etc.

Similar type of argument people make about courses.

But it only takes a little bit of research to see what the science says about being a part of a community. And how if people pay for something, then they value it more, etc.

Thatā€™s why I put up a small paywall for my Skool community. Cause letā€™s be serious, itā€™s not like $10/year is a get rich quick scheme.

Some of the best money Iā€™ve spent has been on courses and communities. Just this year itā€™s been Jacky Chouā€™s Advise community and the private newsletter community that Iā€™m in. Insane amount of value for the money.

What I love about communities is that you get a great way to bounce ideas of people who are actually really valuable for that. You also get exposed to other peopleā€™s way of thinking, which is great for helping you to level up your game.

In the newsletter community that Iā€™m in, the members are from diverse backgrounds so their ideas for things like monetization are coming from completely different places than mine and Iā€™ve learned so much.

One community Iā€™m in had a couple of people talking about cold email (canā€™t remember if it was Patey Club or another one), and that sent me down a rabbit hole learning about that and testing it on my own.

This led to me being the only person in my newsletter group who knows about cold email campaigns.

Itā€™s such as weird path, but it works and itā€™s awesome.

No matter what youā€™re into, I highly recommend finding a community of people doing the same thing as you or whatever youā€™re interested in.

Upcoming topics: more tips and ideas on Etsy and KDP, how itā€™s going with my chatGPT fiction ebook and the AI music thingie, and growing an ecomm site.

If you have a topic you want covered just reply and let me know.

Stay awesome,

Shawna

P.S. If youā€™re looking for high level discussions or tips on things like local SEO and Rank & Rent, I highly recommend Jacky Chouā€™s Advise community. Iā€™ve been in it for several months and thereā€™s tons of value in it, including a SOP for local SEO.
