šŸ¤‘ This Email Is Tariff-Free

but what about ecomm sites?

Yes, I made a jokey subject line, but this is no joke.

What Iā€™m thinking about is ecomm sites that sell physical products (even POD stuff).

The potential tariff situation in the States could affect ecomm sites, right?

When I lived in the Netherlands, I had a registered business (not ecomm) as a requirement of my visa so I got well acquainted with VAT and how that affects prices and selling stuff.

Anyways, while Iā€™m thinking about that, itā€™s not really what I wanted to chat about.

You Just See Emailsā€”I See Influencers

Every day, youā€™re processing orders, but youā€™re missing the gold. That ā€œrandomā€ customer list? I run it through my 5-million-profile influencer database and show you which shoppers actually have an engaged audience. On average, youā€™ve got 75 influencers per 5,000 checkoutsā€”people who already love your brand and could be sharing it. Ready to see whoā€™s hiding in plain sight?

A couple of days ago I was on YouTube listening to a podcast on Pinterest. I think it was the one Tony Hill does with someone else?

Anyways, the topic was Pinterest Trends and how they think that sometimes Pinterest pushes keywords/topics that it wants to trend but that arenā€™t actually trending.

The example mentioned was anything that ends in ā€œaesthetic.ā€

At first I was skeptical, but the more I think about it, I think I buy into this.

I did always find it odd that the word ā€œaestheticā€ was not only in-use on the platform, but seemingly popular.

Itā€™s just not a word you see/hear a lot, especially written as it is not the easiest word for a lot of people to spell.

And when you think about it, manipulating the feeds would definitely be something a brand could do just for the advertising dollars.

Think about it - you could make something really popular and then approach brands in that industry for advertising partnerships.

Who knows why Pinterest might be doing this (if they are), but something interesting to think about as youā€™re looking for pinning ideas.

More on what Iā€™m working on and how itā€™s going.
