šŸ† Well, Guess It's Official

yesterday's poll results are in....

In partnership with

I had a feeling that I knew what the results would be of the poll that I ran yesterday.

Honestly, the only surprising thing is that just one person voted for ā€œI donā€™t care.ā€

Expected more than that, but love that you care so little that you wanted to vote that way (whoever you are).

More on that in a moment.

What Did You Expect?

Well, I guess in reality more than just one of you didnā€™t really care because a whopping 23 of you voted in the poll.

Though Iā€™ll keep an eye on the results in case anyone votes late. Hereā€™s how itā€™s gone downā€¦

I actually love running polls in newsletters for one reason - the comments that people leave.

Itā€™s a great way to get to know your newsletter audience a bit better.

One person offered up this idea -

ā€œNicolas Cole seems to have some interesting AI Fiction writing info and course. It looks pretty legit. Maybe you could cozy up to that one too? :-) ā€

Iā€™m not familiar with any of that, so Iā€™ll look into it and check the cost. If itā€™s cheap, then Iā€™m definitely down.

At least one person is just here for the results.

ā€œAs a fiction writer, I'd love your opinion on the tools. Thanks!ā€

My expectations are quite low in regards to the results. Though I remain hopeful that together we unlock some money magic.

And I should point out that kudos are in order here for this fiction writer not being angry/scared of this test but looking forward to it.

Anywaysā€¦

One commenter referenced a discussion in my Skool community on the best niche for this test, with the addendumā€¦

ā€œPick the best one and use it in a fiction niche that's so hot that the quality doesn't matter. ā€¦ Avoid niches like mysteries and mainstream romance where the readers have standards, lol.ā€

Love this advice - avoiding genres where the readers have standards. Cause thatā€™s exactly what Iā€™ll need!

Real talk though, I donā€™t read romance books and I have a bad feeling that this is the type of book that Iā€™ll have to end up doing.

I have to say though, it will be pretty cool if I can take me - not a fiction writer by any stretch of the imagination - and turn this experiment into something that makes money.

And Q4 is the PERFECT time to test something like this since book sales always go waaaay up during the holidays.

So, I feel like I should set a goal, right? An income goal.

It would be cool to break even with the costs of these tools, but I donā€™t have that data yet.

So, letā€™s assume that I spend $300 on just tools, cause I can do the covers and formatting myself.

If I make back the expenses, Iā€™ll be happy, but if I can manage to make $500 revenue then weā€™ll call it a success.

Sound good?

Cause if I can find something that works, then itā€™s just a matter of repeating it to scale up.

And then I can do things like create a Facebook page based in the genre that works (if one does work) and a website as well. That would allow me to sell direct to readers, or I could make it like a directory of books in the niche.

Dunno, just random thoughts Iā€™m having on how I can level up a successful AI fiction book. Iā€™ll try to come up with more, for those of you who are already a success with books.

Another thought - I wonder if I have time to do non-fiction books as well to show you the results of which makes more money? Cause Claude or chatGPT will be fine for non-fiction. Plus, non-fiction makes it super easy to spin off a site, YouTube, etc. (example - book on getting more organized, site with tips + digital products, YouTube with tips/tutorials, FB page, blah, blah, you get the idea)
