10. chatGPT to Amazon eBook (fiction)

I think this is one of the more interesting things that I’ve done this year.

Since most people outside of our industry aren’t really aware of AI as much, I was curious if you could write an entire fiction book with chatGPT, do some editing, and make any money on Amazon from it.

I publicly shared a horror short story ebook so that you all could read it.

What I didn’t tell you is that I did six more fiction books using the same methods. Proper ones, not short ones like the one I shared.

All in, the 7 of those earned me around $100. So, a terrible hourly rate for all the prompting, copy & pasting, editing, cover creation, ebook formatting, and uploading to Amazon.

Not to mention all the time I spent posting in free places about the days when I offered the books for free.

The interesting part is that none of the reviews mention anyone thinking they started as AI.

I think if you’re already a good writer and are really good at prompting, you could likely do better than I did. But honestly, it just wasn’t worth the time.

I also think non-fiction would be better, but I haven’t had time to test that theory well enough.

Oh, and I also tested several AI fiction writing tools and found none of them to be all that great. Honestly, I was getting better results from my prompting in chatGPT.

11. Faceless YouTube

Though I did work on this in 2024, it was the most neglected of my projects.

The three channels were all started in 2023. I didn’t make any new videos after Q1 of 2024 as I was too focused on Google fuckery and other things.

This is something that I’ll be getting back to here in 2025 with a real focus. Hopefully I haven’t killed the channels with my neglect.

I should really get back to my own YouTube channel too. Anyways…

This brought in less than $1500 for the year.

12. A Local Cleaning Business

Sometimes I have a crazy/stupid idea and no one stops me. This was one of them.

I thought that I should start a local business to promote in my local newsletter. So I picked a cleaning company…without doing any market research.

Guess what? This city is FULL of them and full of EVEN MORE people offering cleanings for pennies on the dollars.

Apparently Vegas is home to the largest number of undocumented immigrants in the USA. And I assume that’s what’s going on with all the offers to clean people’s 2000 sq ft houses for $60.

So, this made zero money and it didn’t take long for me to realize that it was never going to work here. But, still worth mentioning cause it IS something I tried.

And the business did get a good amount of inbound requests for cleaning quotes, so I think it could work fine in other cities.
